The WSCA Tournament was held February 22-24, 2019 at Bellevue College in Bellevue, WA. The tournament was the largest hosted by WSCA in at least the last five years. 117 undergraduate competitors, representing 18 schools and 7 states competed in a variety of debate and public speaking events over the course of the three-day tournament. In the 4-year team sweepstakes category, the University of Utah and Lewis & Clark College were the first and second-place teams, respectively. The University of Utah also won the prestigious “Best in the West” award, a traveling trophy that recognizes competitive excellence from year-to-year at the WSCA tournament. In the 2-year team sweepstakes category, Northwest College and Casper College were the first and second-place teams, respectively. WSCA remains the only regional communication organization that hosts a forensics tournament and the growth of the tournament in recent years speaks to the strength and vibrancy of forensics programs in the West.
