On Friday February 22, 2019, WSCA will host the Graduate Programs Open House (GPOH) from 3:45pm - 5:00pm. The GPOH provides undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to meet with representatives from universities that have graduate programs in Communication. The GPOH gives graduate programs high visibility with future scholars in the field. Established in 2003, the GPOH continues its tradition of linking students with graduate programs in an environment that guarantees personal interaction.
On that same day, we will kick off the morning with the Undergraduate Scholars Research Conference from 8am - 1pm where undergraduate students from around the region will present their research. This year, we will have 17 paper sessions with students presenting 68 total papers! From 2pm - 3:30pm, graduate program representatives from various schools in the region will sit on the Graduate Workshop panel to offer their suggestions and advice in selecting, applying to, and succeeding in graduate school. This year, we will have a panel for those students interested in moving in a traditional academic path as well as a separate panel for students interested in professional studies.
The fee for participation is $50 for WSCA Department Members and $150 for those schools who are not Departmental members (annual departmental membership is only $80!). Participating departments receive one six-foot table on which to set out materials. The deadline for reserving a table is February 2nd. You can visit the WSCA website for more information and to reserve your table: https://www.westcomm.org/page/GradProgramOpenHouse
