The Western States Communication Association is pleased to partner with Little America Hotel in Salt Lake City, Utah for the 2017 Convention. This Four-Diamond hotel is situated just a few blocks south of the center of downtown. The accommodations are within a 10-15 minute walk to the center of downtown or a quick ride on Trax which is free within the downtown area.
While we realize that savvy travelers may search online in hopes of a better hotel rate, it is very important that our attendees register for their hotel rooms in advance through WSCA and stay at the conference hotel. This is because our contractual agreement guarantees that our attendees will take up a portion of the sleeping rooms and in return, the hotel provides conference meeting rooms at no charge. If we do not use the agreed upon portion of the sleeping rooms, the association will have to pay an additional costly fee.
The convention dates are from February 17 through February 21, 2017. The Preconvention Workshops, Undergraduate Scholars Research Conference, and Convention Kick Off are held Saturday, February 18. Conference panels and presentations are Sunday, February 19 through Tuesday February 21. The sock hop is Sunday, February 19. The awards luncheon will be held Monday, February 20. The conference concludes Tuesday, February 21st at noon.
