With the 2016 Western States Communication Association’s annual convention less than two months away, the Interpersonal Communication Interest Group would like to send a call for elections to be held during its annual Business Meeting on Sunday, February 28th. The Interpersonal Communication Interest Group will hold elections for the following two positions:
1. Chair - The Chair’s term will begin February 2016. S/he will help to run this year’s Business Meeting in San Diego, and will serve as the Interest Group's Program Planner for the 2017 convention in Salt Lake City, UT.
2. Secretary - The Secretary’s term will also begin February 2016. S/he will take notes during the upcoming 2016 Business Meeting in San Diego, CA.
In addition to Chair and Secretary, the Interpersonal Communication Interest Group is always in need of Paper Readers. Readers will be responsible for blind reviewing competitive paper and panel submissions in September for the 2017 convention in Salt Lake City, UT.
To nominate yourself or a colleague for one or more of these positions, please forward your nomination to the IPC Interest Group’s current Chair – J. Jacob Jenkins – at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than Monday, February 1st.
Nominations for all positions must include the nominee's (1) name, (2) current academic standing, and (3) institutional affiliation.
Those nominated for the position of Chair or Secretary will be asked to introduce themselves at the IPC Business Meeting this year. For that reason, if a nominee is unable to attend the Business Meeting, her/his nomination should also include a brief statement that can be read by a current officer on her/his behalf. As always, self-nominations are strongly encouraged.
Thank you for your time. And I look forward to seeing you all in San Diego next month!
